MENTAL NOTE #31,7261 REMEMBERING WHAT YOU DID BEFORE

MENTAL NOTE #31.7261: REMEMBERING WHAT YOU DID BEFORE, YOU CAN DO AGAIN!

There is a quote I really like, and respect, from James Abbott McNeill Whistler, for which, of course, I can’t find now online, but I pretty much have it memorized, and it goes like this:

Whistler said, Whenever I feel that my hand has lost its cunning, I look at that little spray of roses, and I am reminded that what I did before, I can do again. (Paraphrased quote from memory).

☆ That is powerful!

I often need to review my past work to remind myself that I have done many types of Photography, and I need to look back at some of my best work to remind myself that I can do it again.

Thus, since I seem to be STUCK IN “MENTAL NOTE #31.XX at this time, I will show a few of my past works in the #31 Mental Notes, to remind myself of photographic things that I can do again, IF, I apply myself to doing them.

MENTAL NOTE #31.LOL! THE ONLY PAINTER!

MENTAL NOTE #31.LOL! THE ONLY PAINTER!

‘I know of only two painters in the world,’ said a newly introduced feminine enthusiast to Whistler, ‘yourself and Velasquez.’ ‘Why,’ answered Whistler in dulcet tones, ‘why drag in Velasquez?’ ~ A story by Whistler ~

James Abbott McNeill Whistler,

definitely one of my favourite artists! I especially appreciate his famous work, “Whistler’s Sister” (Ahhhhhhh, from the Mr. Bean movie)…I’m just mess’en with ya!

Whistler was a genius, even though he and many other innovators in art at his time, were rejected by the art community. Now, if he could only know, his works are priceless!
